KATHUA: Thirty Five candidates are in fray for Phase III of District Development Council and Panchayat By polls in Kathua district.
Under Phase III the elections for District Development Council (DDC) and by-election for vacant Sarpanch and Panch seats are being held in Basohli and Billawar blocks.
As per the elections schedule issued by DPEO, the voting for phase-III will be held on December 04, 2020.
The 35 contesting candidates include 24 for DDC, 07 for Sarpanch and 04 for Panch seats.
According to District Panchayat Election Officer, Kathua, 6 candidates withdrew their candidature, 2 nominations were rejected and 2 candidates for panch seats were elected unopposed by the respective Returning Officers.
